For people wondering why there is no shock wave. This is considered small breath, very common among hiperactive volcano. Because tropic climate and light material this kind of volcano has many eruption per day but small scale. To put it simple.
Type 1 High number of small eruption, small power
Type 2 Low number of eruption but high power.

Hard to imagine that this very volcano once produced an explosion which was around 310 decibels. So, freaking loud!!

I would like to tell a story about my experience with Anak Krakatoa.
I was a freewheelin hot$#!t surfer in the early 90s. Before cell phones and the internet changed travel. I was going from one surf spot to another on a ferry when I heard loud booms. I was told it was Anak Krakatoa. As a 20 year old kid who grew up on National Geographic I decided to check it out.
I was in a small village not far across a lagoon from the volcano at a cafe when a man asked if I wanted to see the volcano. Well of course I do. lol. He took me across the lagoon to the steep volcanic cone smoking and smelling of sulfur. He jumped out of the boat and motioned to me to follow. As we climbed in the black pumice it felt warmer and warmer under my feet and I began to see small rocks rolling past me. As we got higher the stones became boulders and it got much warmer as the smell of sulfur was chocking me. We began to hear loud booms as my guide stopped then took off again up the steaming pumice. A huge boom then quite large boulders now smoking rolled past us as I asked my guide if this was safe. He looked back at me as he was climbing onward and said NO!!! As stupid as I was at 20 I decided to turn back as I felt I had pushed my luck for the day. Next stop was Kamodo Island where I was chased by an angry lizzard. Moral of the story. Do not take mushrooms.

Great place to visit!
It'd be crazy to live there though . .
