How can you copy some text in the same .txt file and paste it instead of another text in the same file? I mean i copy what i want to copy with M-6 (esc -6 ) but when i go to the text which i want to replace what do i have in my copy buffer first i want to remove the existent text when i do that with ctrl-K --> it takes the existent text into the cut buffer and when i paste it it again the same text which i wanted to replace.

Thanks for the nano intro and about spell check didn't know it could do that. I like nano so far since it is easier to use over vim or emacs.
But I wish I could get copy/paste to work in the common way -> ^c to copy the selected text ^p to paste
I think they use ^K and ^U paste so it doesn't conflict with terminal shell use of them.
To Mark text... ALT+SHIFT+A and then ALT+SHIFT+6 .... seems weird
or you could edit the nano config file keybinds to use the usual ^c and ^v,

Is there a way to turn on line wrap so that it doesn't split text in the middle of words?

Thanks for the tutorial. My use will be the first-time. I want to make a file called config.json. Do I have to place a .txt after my file name? How about if I want to make a backup? I'll need a backup folder, so I plan on making one a placing it in the root dir. Any advice? Thanks.

cool, didn't know about plus line number from cmd line options. I love nano bcoz is simple a gets the job done. Vim looks cooler but has a learning wall

I don't like nano! But I work mostly with Ubuntu servers that I ended up using it more than any other editor and I'm way more proficient on it.

I used to do construction for a living high end Bridges hospitals so commercial blueprints are easier to read then the NANORC file really nano is not easy to use it.... it has a steep learning curve especially if you never even heard of an RC file.... and get it to function properly you need to understand that.
