When a train derails, get tf away!! Leave!! As quickly as you can. You have no idea what chemicals or other hazardous things those train cars might be carrying. It's astounding to see people sitting in their vehicles and walking around videoing instead of hauling it out of there as fast as they can.

Almost all of these onlookers are completely absent of situation awareness. There was no effort to back up, leave room or anything; they all appeared to just stay there to see the collision.

It’s crazy that many people don’t know there are emergency phone numbers at every railroad crossing. Some kind of PR campaign needs to be done informing the motoring public.

This pilot company should never be in business anymore OMG
Just because of ignorant people like this pilot company maybe the railroad should consider a 35 miles an hour zone through all towns.

So if I'm reading all the info correctly; Truck was stuck there for a hour. There is a phone number written on the crossing in which people can call and alert the trains in which could of halted train movement. Non from the construction company bothered to do anything. Chase car failed to do their job. And if that is a sheriff deputy on a bike, that law enforcement failed to do his job as well. I smell a lawsuit, construction company will surely go bankrupt.

The one thing that brings the most tears is knowing that train can't stop and there's nothing anyone can do but wait for it to come to a stand still. I'm so heartbroken. Prayers for yall!! 💔💔🙏🙏

I'm a truck driver, and seeing these kinda videos just makes me drive safer. They tell you to get out and look for a damn reason! YOU CAN'T GUESS. That's horrible.

I never drive up close to a crossing, leave some room so you can turn around if you need to

You can see the train engine lift up off the track upon impact, causing it to derail! I heard that only 1 person was killed, but see a comment in this video that both train crew members were killed . My condolences to the families of the crew members. And who is the person walking around in that area as the train crashed?

Goodnight
I begin by lamenting and offering my condolences to the families of the deceased.
It's amazing how an accident like this happens, here in Europe it's practically impossible for this to happen.
First: the level crossings have the road at the same level as the tracks, it's not like the USA where the railway is higher.
Second: A transport of this type must be authorized with escort cars in front and behind and indicate with illuminated signs on the roof that a "special transport" is approaching.
Third: If the route of this transport has to pass over a level crossing, the Railway Company must be notified of the scheduled time of the transport crossing.
Fourth: You cannot drive a tractor-trailer of this size without being accompanied by police cars.
The USA is the richest country in the world and has these peculiarities that are strange to us, it is regrettable.

I believe something should have been done to prevent this unnecessary accident. Train owners should have a way of warning and stopping their crew in case a hazard has been detected

Train: How much carnage do you want?

Semi truck: All of it.

The cop just sitting there in the bike ... Dude run! Go help!

It’s unbelievably irresponsible on the part of the truck driver to attempt to cross active railroad tracks with such an oversized load and not have checked with UP as to when the next train was due. It surely wasn’t a farm truck with hay bails!
