THIS is correct. Much better than the flat sheet demo!

Beautiful. The 2D sagging example always bothers me

This demo is so underrated. If this was shown in school and stuff students could grab the concept of gravity easier and more accurately

This is the way I picture spacetime. Way better representation than a flat sheet warping, which is like using gravity to explain gravity. Add in the flow of time and it would show the flow of spacetime better.

This is correct warp of 3D space. The 2D plot of warping plane was misleading. Thank you for correct visulaization of 3D space.

I hope educators use this model of visual representation going forward. What's amazing is how long ago Lagrange points were determined using the Newtonian model only. Those could be seen and intuited much more easily using this animation. Excellent.

This is the first video that clearly shows how mass stretches spacetime the previous showed that spacetime is condensed around mass

I like this x, y, z representation of space. A second part of this animation after finishing constructing the mesh would have been passing a small sphere through the mesh and see the distortion. Technically, showing x, y, z, t animation. I hate the current plane/flat animations that it is shown everywhere.

Well illustrated... may be a bit longer and more perspective views while rotating the cam would be much nicer.

I was trying to see this in my mind! Finally I can see it clearly! Those 2d models that there in videos across internet are shit.

As good as this is, (and thank you JB Motion Design for finally showing gravity not as a flat sheet) it is still very limited in representing the true warping of spacetime, which in all fairness, is impossible to show.

Does video only shows the warping of space in a single moment...which means there's no warping at all. Space-"time" continue to warp and stretch into the massive object. It's not a stationary thing. Gravity actually attracts the future. If you're distant but stationary to a massive body, you are effectively standing still in space (relative to that body.) but you will fall towards that massive body because that massive body is pulling the moment (time) you're in. You move with the space-time. You may not be moving to the object through space, but since the planet is attracting the space-"time" you're in, the moment where you are distant from the massive body will eventually be the moment you crash into it.

You are not moving through the river. You are moving with the river and because of it.

There's something that we are missing, something we have under our eyes all the time, the key...
We haven't alreay figured out what is the shape of universe, with 3D we can see it as an expanding sphere...
And...what if what we see, is simple matter, that bend not space, but space time?...
I mean, space with 3 dimension is our physic dimension, gravity can be the conseguence of space that hold matter in a precise time, if you bend space to much (black hole's event horizon), matter became energy, and escape from space to time (in the same point of space, but in the past)...
If my theory is correct, universe is 3D shaped "object"flowing on 4th dimension, the time, if you can see everything from "outside" (that doesn't exist), you'll see 4D paradoxical object, not a sphere, but self contained shape, perfect looped shape that don't have begin, or the end, a paradox, where nothing is created, nothing is destroyed, but everything transform, one single event from future create the universe contained in itself in the past...
There's no need to involve another dimension, or know when everything is started, we live in a paradox that exist in nothingness, a perfect sistem autocontained in a isolated place with looped time and space...

And what's cool is that those are all straight lines

should be done with dots showing fewer and fewer dots per cubic inch the closer you get - that is what is really happening

A velocity of 11 kilometers per hour is the speed at which an object is thrown outward with enough centrifugal force, rather than being held in orbit around the Earth or falling back to Earth due to gravity, to describe the speed of an open curve away from Earth. planet. We all know that light has a speed limit - about 186, 000 miles per second. Nothing can run faster. But why should gravity travel at the same speed? gravity. Nothing and no one can escape it. This mysterious force surrounds and permeates us. Gravity determines our life on Earth, holds the universe together and is the key to understanding the universe.

isnt this inverse? you wouldnt be able to see the light behind a very massive object it it worked like this..

Each of these lines is a wordline, now wrap your head around that! :O

Is this consistent with gravitational lensing ?

This "3D" warping of spacetime example does not seem at all to be creating the kinds trajectory lines needed that would actually cause objects to follow the paths that they actually do in real spacetime. Seems to me that one more spacial dimension would be required for this to happen--or, one "time" dimension that has a 4th space-dimensional component to it. Think of a curvature into a 4th dimension as a physical spacial distortion in the fabric of spacetime (or fabric of time) that draws into it, things that are moving through time at a faster rate.Thereby, attempting to level out or equalize time dilation differentials--even with just mere local abatements. There is a lot more to this, even on the scale of the entire Universe but this seems to be more plausible and much more explanatory than how gravity is usually explained.
