Opening Plenary
Показать описание
Chemical pollution has crossed a "planetary boundary". More than 350,000 chemicals and mixtures are globally available, many of which are toxic and particularly endanger infants and children. Nowadays, most children are born “pre-polluted”: already in uterus they get contaminated with numerous hazardous chemicals. Achieving a toxic-free future is paramount.
Together with our many exciting speakers at the conference “Healthy Children on a Healthy Planet: Success Factors for a Toxic-Free Future” we have called for more action on chemical pollution, discussed award-winning policies and featured the most critical policy success factors and recommendations.
Speakers at the opening plenary:
Alexandra Wandel, Executive Director, World Future Council (WFC)
H.E. Annika Strandhäll, Minister for Climate and the Environment, Sweden
Nikhil Seth, UN Assistant Secretary-General and Executive Director of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
Dr. Monika MacDevette, Chief of the Chemicals and Health Branch, UN Evironment Programme (UNEP)
Samia Kassid, Senior Programme Manager, Rights of Children and Youth, World Future Council (WFC)
