Long Drive Through Pyongyang

Normally photography isn't permitted from buses in North Korea, much less videos. Fortunately the rules were somewhat lax during the April 15, 2012 holiday week as the country celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the birth of its Great Leader Kim Il Sung. Sorry the video is a little jumpy in places because it's shot from a moving bus, but I figured most people wouldn't mind that in order to catch a real-time, real-life glimpse glimpse of what Pyongyang really looks like in between the pre-approved tourist stops.

It's Pyongyang. It's the showcase city deliberately kept nice, clean and orderly to look good to the outside world. Once you leave the city, then it goes to hell

Another nice video of the DPRK. You have the whole POV video thing down cold, I wish more videos here were of this standard.

i know that it doesn't represent the rest of the country, but i never ever seen such a clean city as this one.

I know that most of the North Korean infrastructure was wiped out during the Korean War. But I meant that nothing has changed since the 1970s, hence a giant museum over the 1970s.

Thank you for sharing this video, well done! Nice clean streets with little traffic. I did notice that there must be a lack of school "speed zone" signs around, because your driver was moving fairly quickly right past children on the street.

Thanks for the tour :) It's incredible to see no advertisements anywhere. Everywhere you go in this world you see a big Coca cola signs and all kinds of advertisements. I have to say that Pyongyang looks kinda nice on the outside. Very clean and organized.

Peace

Very nice video. Who did you go with? I visited back in October of 2013 with Young Pioneer Tours.

This whole video gives u that sensation of something grown really huge and strong during the years, but at the same time it gives u the vibe somehow of something that is just so sad...Everyone looks the same, every building is grey and the whole scenario looks so dark and sadly desolated..

Did u have the same sensations?

I thought the same, it´s a big city, clean, and barely there are people outside and vehicles, there´s no traffic jams for a city of that size.
