Bro thank you for letting the guide talk. It’s insane especially as a Korean to see people that look like everybody I grew up with living in a totally separate world but still sharing so much in common with us

As someone who grew up in a formerly Soviet-occupied country and learned about Soviet times through photographs and stories from my mother, I find it fascinating to hear Westerners' perspectives. Having now spent half my life living in the "traditional West, " it's intriguing to see people impressed by cleanliness—a feature that was often prevalent in many Soviet countries. Despite having little, people took great care of what they had, including children's playgrounds (most children were playing openly and they were basically built around all 5+ apartment building blocks), streets, and apartments. This mindset, rooted in helping others as well as oneself, played a significant role in daily life - a guest never left hungry one's home, as a host one always packed some food with them etc.

Of course, this is a broad oversimplification. As someone who grew up in such an environment, watching this video made me reflect not only on the beauty of the architecture but also on its ability to convey compliance and uniformity. For many Eastern Europeans, this duality often evokes conflicting emotions: nostalgia for a clean and "pure" way of life, sometimes gorgeous artworks (though not always done by the artist's choice, yes) paired with resentment for the pressure, uniformity, and contradictions imposed by the regimes. One shouldn't apologize for complimenting the beauty of artworks, or structures or any of that sort - the opposite, if you truly feel that you're unbiased, you should cherish those achievements (beyond the clean streets), but I understand where you're also coming from. There's so much pain and suffering happening that's real, though always best told by those who lived through them, while there's also so much beauty and joy that humans find in any environment and that should always be credited as well.

I just wanted to share my different focal points while engaging with this video. Greetings from New York City, and all the best!

I met a North Korean professor in Russia in the 1988 in Petersburg hostel and met some North Korean students. They talk like a parrot, nothing from their minds, but one told me separately that I can't in front of other North Koreans about negative things.

pyongyang is a showcase with only trusted people and families living in it, outside the capital conditions deteriorate rapidly

Translation: A lot of the news is talking about Iran building their military and China launching satellites, however, there is a line (39) that says there is a Crime surge in Japan and many people are having heatstroke. Most of the news other than that is related to Israel and Iran boosting their army size and capacity.

Bro, you had a great idea going there during the marathon. You got lost in the crowd, the spot was not only on you. Other vloggers were not so smart and they got followed by police at every step. Kudos bro. I’m watching you from Romania and I’m really considering doing the same move next year by going there during the marathon
