Zoe is incredible but I worry that the idea of dehumanizing to become Neytiri isn't the best description of her good intentions. The Na'vi may not be human, but they are meant to be an alternate version of humanity that we instinctively understand and even aspire to. From them, we learn what it means to not just be a Human or a Na'vi, but a sentient being blessed with personal agency for oneself, and responsibility toward others. In the process of understanding their culture, we are not "dehumanizing" ourselves to become Na'vi, but rather "rehumanizing" ourselves and becoming the people we should be. I believe the sequels will focus much more on the things Earth and Pandora hold in common, rather than their differences. 💙
