My grandson knew several signs by age four months. He knew MILK, MORE, EAT and MOM, but since I'm a sign language Interpreter we had been signing to him from birth because he was born with Down Syndrome.

It's a wonderful thing and helps all children move through the "terrible twos" much easier. Since they can express their needs and wants they have less frustrations and therefore act out less.

Jessica Kellgren-Fozard has a great video on teaching her baby sign language as she is deaf. She talked about the difference of most people teaching their children “baby signs” when they themselves don’t know sign language as some of the signs aren’t true ASL signs.

my parents did this to me! they mixed this tactic with baby signing time videos, so that I would learn a variety of signs. they've told me I never had terrible twos because of it. the terrible twos largely come from an inability to communicate! take that away, and both you and your toddler have a much easier time

This is amazing, but babies are not supposed to be introduced to solid foods at that age. It might mess up their stomach. It should be at 6-7 months.

Not sign language but how can I give my 5 month old puréed if he’s not sitting by himself yet? I thought he’s suppose to be sitting by himself to give him. I also want to teach him sign
