Been a professional heavy equipment mechanic for 8 years now and we work on everything from dirtbikes and harleys to skid steers, pavers, semis and dozers and i have never ran into a situation where i need a stubby ratchet. Tools are too expensive to buy just to have them. Maybe theres a use for in some cases. I bought a set of blue point stubby ratchet wrenches about 4 years ago and ive only used them 1 time and that was only because i didnt feel like looking for my regular 9/16 ratchet wrench lol that being said i bought a snap on set that has a low profile 3/8 ratchet and a metric and standard set of low profile sockets, now that set has been a life saver a few times and even saved me from having to pull a cab on a 1 ton

The cheap Pittsburgh stubby set. I think I paid like $10 to get all three sizes. I've got a lot of use out of them and they work great.

I like working to pay my bills using a tool I know another American worker pays bills making AND I'm supporting small local business.

That extra bit of shortness helps in very tight spaces... mind you, I haven't used either one of my stubby snap on ratchets a whole lot, yes I got the flex and non flex, but the times I have used them, they saved me quite some time on flag jobs... I don't blame anyone for wanting to save a buck, but I like to spend my money where I want, so I'll continue to do so

What did you use a great wrench Handel to make that extended stubby

My feeling is that anything small or infrequently used is going to have significantly less lifetime stress on it by default and that's where you go cheap. Buy quality for frequently used or high stress/critical situation tools.

1/4" drive? Stubby? Just get harbor freight.

the one that was made that way form the factory so the chrome does not flake off and cause damage.

My snap on has gotten me out of so many tight situations just cus of the actual size of it it’s really worth the price and I’ve had it for years never had to warranty

I have a small 1/4 snapon pn tk72 its the little brother to your tkf72 i love it for doing trim stuff, keeps you from over torqueing interior panels but gives enough leverage that they wont rattle when youre done

Snapon. The stubby of that stubbyness should be as stubby as possible. I'm also a fan of the 3/8 100t flex stubby from snapon

Snap on. It’s perfect size for doing small stuff. I use it all the time and definitely got my money out of it. Nothing against icon.

I have that snap on it's pretty great. super small so it's saved my ass in some tight spots saving me time vs having to disassemble to gain access to bolts. The icons back drag is bad for tight spots unfortunately.

The Icon is much cheaper than the Snap On, but I like the Icon tools, they have held up just as well as the Snap On and the cost is about 50 bucks cheaper than Snap On.💯🇺🇸

I have the Gearwrench 3/8" 120xp stubby. Badass little wrench.

Snap On. The way the end of the handle flares out a lot more seems like it would be a lot better. With the less aggressive flare on the end I can't help thinking your fingers would skip right past the end of the handle while using it. So then you gotta readjust your grip over and over again.

I have the icon. I want the snap-on. They're both excellent, but I like the handle shape and shorter length.

As someone who absolutely despises tool trucks and like to support Tekton, Gearwrench, sunex, GP, lisle, etc I absolutely will close my stubby snap-on 1/4” flex head everyday. I have tried two different icon ratchets and to me they’re not anywhere close to the quality.
