What's brilliant about this is something so easy to miss. Bart and Lisa aren't scared by the Raven poem. But at the end, Homer is. Because he's an adult that understands grief and the fear of losing his soul mate (Marge), whereas Bart and Lisa haven't experienced that level of grief yet.

Aside from voicing Darth Vader and Mufasa, i feel like his narration in this Treehouse of Horror episode was my top 3 favorite role from him based on his performance. Rest easy, James. 😢

One of my very favorite Simpsons moments. James Earl Jones was so spooky as the narrator. I loved it when Bart said Eat my Shorts instead of never more. Also at the end when it sounded like Homer was going for Bart and he sort of ran away. Glad this is on youtube for us all to enjoy.

Bart has no clue how horror works. Opening the door to nothing there is the most scariest thing in the world. Poe was a genius with the poem and creating demons that aren't there.
