Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) of crypto exchange FTX has to be the best magician of the last 20 years. David Copperfield, David Blaine, and Criss Angel don't have anything on the wunderkind who managed to make $51 Billion disappear. This might be the crime of the century.

How has he not been pulled in by authorities all over the world? These aren't just losses for US investors and funds. This is a global debacle of Herculean proportions. Heavy hitting firms like Silicon Valley's Sequoia (loss of $150 million) and Singapore's Temasek (loss of $275 million) didn't seem to think that due diligence should have included checking to see who else was on the executive team.

Some on the team have checkered pasts... like attorney Dan Friedberg, FTX's chief compliance officer, who had previously been implicated in an online poker cheating scandal.

Oh, and they actually didn't have a CPA keeping the books... of a financial exchange!
