Knife Making – Forging a Bowie from a stone crusher bearing
[EN] In this video I forge a Bowie knife from a huge stone crusher bearing, I didn't think this steel was so strong! I almost stopped this project because I had to sand this steel. Once I had made a bar out of the stone crusher bearing I used it to make a sandwich with Thiers steel to get a super sharp edge. It makes a great blade because the two outer plates are anti-wear and the core has a razor sharp edge. You may not realize in the video but the very complicated part to do was the guard with the return at the end of the handle! I'm happy with myself because my calculations were good and I did well.
I am really very satisfied with this knife with its unique look I find it beautiful and you what do you think?

Forger un Bowie à partir d'un roulement de concasseur de pierres
[FR] Dans cette vidéo je forge un couteau Bowie à partir d'un énorme roulement de concasseur de pierres, je ne pensais pas que cet acier était aussi résistant ! j’ai failli arrêter ce projet tellement j’ai dû poncer cet acier. Une fois que j’ai eu fait une barre avec le roulement de concasseur de pierre je m’en suis servi pour faire un sandwich avec de l’acier de Thiers pour avoir un super tranchant. Ça fait une super lame puisque les deux plaques extérieures sont traitées anti-usure et le cœur a un tranchant comme un rasoir. On ne se rend peut-être pas compte dans la vidéo mais la partie très compliquée à faire était la garde avec le retour en fin de poignée ! je suis content de moi car mes calculs était bon et je m’en suis bien sorti.
Je suis vraiment très satisfait de ce couteau avec son look unique je le trouve magnifique et vous qu’en pensez-vous ?
