This is exactly what drew me to the original TKOR channel and I love that you are making that concept your own.

You sure did a ton of work for this video. Just wanted you to know that I noticed. All that hard work paid off bc it was really fun to watch!

Man I love watching Nate I’m so glad he didn’t quit YouTube after the other channel

The 2nd thing I made when I got my little hobby forge was a new pair of tongs.
It's very satisfying to be able to make the tools that you need to make a project.

I gotta say, I'm not super into knife making myself but this video kept my attention the entire time because it reminded me of old TKOR. Great job Nate!

You’re Welcome. 🙏 I say that, because, I’m pretty sure that I paid for that Vevor power hacksaw, building my ENTIRE shop from the Vevor site, on Amazon. 😂😂😂. Foundry, professional Jewelers workshop, and mini machine shop, almost all provided by Vevor, for a fraction of the cost. Honestly, if it weren’t for Vevor, I would not have been able to afford to do any of this. From heavy duty Bench shears, to vacuum casting systems, metal rollers, wire makers, lathes, ten types of precision vises that I needed…🤷‍♂️the list just goes on.
There ARE a couple things that Vevor doesn’t make, like mini mills, but if they DID, I’d have bought one from them. I really can’t thank them enough for opening up a world of affordable introductory tools and systems, to me.
And I’m so glad that they found you. 🙏

I would just like to say that it's wildly refreshing to see Nate absolutely killing it on his own, given everything that went down with TKOR.

I would argue for a step between your basic and mid tier. There's a lot that can be done with the addition of household tools like clamps, a hand drill and an angle grinder, without getting into dedicated bench mounted tools.

So glad my dad has amassed a large amoutn of tools over the years from his hobbies and his career. Saves alot in the long run. Like I was able to weld my own forge bc we have a welder.

This was an incredibly good video and something I wish more makers would explore with/for their audience. So many creators evolve slowly and forget the difference between how it "can be done" vs how they do it now... Just like parents not realizing how their kids are growing until someone points out they've grown 4" in the last 2 months...

Alec Steele here on YouTube is a blacksmith who has had shops in both the US and his home nation UK and he’s a wonderful guy to watch if you like forging.

Would love to see a series of Nate getting into and learning more about forging. ❤

Great video! I respect you for shaping the first knife without a work table and vice. I think everyone who wants to take up the hobby has that at home.

This is the content that made tkor popular, I can’t wait to see the future, how to build a smoker?

Great video. You did more than I have the space to do. I'm a tradesman and not a blacksmith, though I do have blacksmith friends and I have one piece of constructive criticism that will make your forging a lot easier. Hold the handle of the hammer at the end. It's more difficult to aim, but the leverage makes your blows much more powerful. Your aim will improve dramatically over time. I believe in you, Nate!

I've seen a few of your stock-removal knife making before and you're pretty damn good at it.
I enjoyed watching you forge a bit of bar stock into a knife-shape.
I wonder, now that you have the equipment will you attempt to forge other things, maybe a tongs or some other tools from mild steel, then maybe go back and forge a paring knife from scratch or somethign to the effect.
Love the content Nate!
EDIT: Correcting a typo

This takes me back, I used to have a nice knife making tool bench, then I got a 2x72, and then a forge, and now I have a knife making garage 😅

Also Swag Off-road makes a nice table for metal bandsaws for anyone who is unable to make their own.

What a great video! Awesome that so many brands agreed to play ball and let you highlight their products.
