$110 Gravel Driveway

Installing a driveway can be a costly investment, but it doesn't have to be. I recently installed a gravel driveway at my investment property for only $110! Was it done right? Ehhhh kinda. But it will serve its purpose better than the overgrown grass driveway.

By using a skid steer and trailer, I was able to haul in the gravel myself, saving thousands of dollars between labor costs, rental costs, and materials. The installation process was simple, and the end result was a decent and functional driveway that added curb appeal to my property.

If you're looking to install a driveway on a budget, I highly recommend considering a DIY gravel installation. Especially when you just need to do a refresh.

$70 for a tarp
$60 for gravel
Sold $20 of dirt
Basically, it's $110 in material and 3 hours of work. Obviously, we are fortunate enough to have a dump trailer and skid steer, which obviously cuts down on costs.

Just another reason why I love the dumpster business model we're operating. It allows us to do so many overlapping services. While also letting us use the existing equipment to add curb appeal to my investment properties.

Should have put some edging down like timber or cheap plastic just to make trimming slightly easier around the driveway

One time I did this job and the neighbors had an old 400 ft driveway and came to my boss asking if I could maybe fix some spots in their driveway on my way out, somehow they talked him down to a half hour T&M I think that was a 110 bucks.
They got lucky it was me working that day because I regraded that whole thing all the way to the house 😅

What's the black plastic you used, type and brand? And cost? I can't imagine the delivery of so much gravel is less than $ 110, -

should have dug it out for a concrete /black top driveway then filled it with stone and stone dust/concrete base so you would be one step closer to being ready for the concrete or blacktop driveway...when you have the money saved up...a few years from now...

So will the membrane and gravel alone be enough to stop weeds growing through?
