It doesn't care about you, it cares about going fast.

A guy came in an traded a 80 mile 2nd gen viper for a 03 vette. Said the viper scared the shite outta him. Boss took me for a rip and we legit spun out getting on the freeway.. The front end is crazy heavy.

I worked at a Dodge dealership when they came out, it was crazy how much power it had, IMO it was more powerful than a Ferrari

The V10 was a Dodge design, based off the Magnum V8. Lamborghini did help with the engine but it was 100% a Dodge engine.

I have a friend who used to have one, and I have driven in a few times. You definitely have to give it your full attention and be aware of what's going on around you and the conditions you are in. That being said, it is an absolute blast to drive once you get used to it.

The Viper was made for people that actually know how to drive and this is what made it so special it showed the actual skill of the driver . So now days We have a lot of one a bit drivers that have all kinds of gadgets to do the driving for them. I have nothing against all the safety features but in reality if you’re lacking skill the last thing you need is power. Gaining experience on less assisted car with less gadgets to correct your mistakes will allow you to learn and eventually you can safely move to a more power if needed . Everyone that actually knows how to drive knows what I am talking about .

Natural habitat of Viper is in a garage, exclusively, or around a light pole. It’s a Catch 22 car, anytime you even attempt to really drive it it kicks you in the neck

Ah, the USDM's "Widowmaker" of the 90s. Such a gnarly car. I have yet to run into a situation where I could drive one, but I would LOVE an opportunity. No nanny systems. Just you, the car, and your ability to control it. It would be nice to have a nice open back road or, ideally, a track to have the room to learn it without any distractions or obstacles.

While my current car is nothing by comparison, it did force me to tighten up my shifting skills. AWD gets really wonky if you screw up engaging the clutch. Never had I ever driven a car that was so particular with landing the clutch engagement. Maybe it's an STi thing, or maybe the combination of a lightweight flywheel and HD clutch has made it that much more noticeable. Regardless, you either get it 100% right, or it lets you know you didn't, lol.

Honestly its the skills of the drivers who may have killed them since they couldn't handle the beast when driving it a bit too extreme

I love vipers, but they scare the hell out of me.

One of the last generation Dodge vipers would be a good car to look into since they’re discontinued and pretty rare.

It's a pushrod V10. That antiquated valvetrain technology Chrysler still hangs on to .

I saw One of these parked out in front of a towing garage that was in an accident. It was only from the headrest to the tail lights that it looked untouched but the entire part ahead of that was mashed beyond recognition. They don't extract you from this vehicle when you test It's limits. They use a garden hose. Truth!😢
