This is how they did it: (not trying to ruin the fun ;-) )
(x is the number you chose) 50(2x+5)+1767=100x + 250 + 1767 = 100x + 2017 minus your birthday year is 100x + [2017 - {birthday year}]
I don't, myself, understand all this math, but I saw it in a comment so well done to whoever worked this out!!
