I don't see the problem. The Bourne stories are great, and they haven't recast Jason Bourne it's a new character. Trailer is awesome, movie sounds great...

@siezetheidea I totally agree! The Bourne movies, although commercial films, had a certain dignity that I don't see in this trailer which looks like just a way to try to exploit the "Bourne" brand without the character/actor that has been the soul of the saga.

Hmmm, so this is basically a branch of the Bourne series, in other words this is a brother film. Matt Damon will probably have a cameo, maybe he will even have a secondary/tertiary role in the following films.

@Bluevirage He had a certain amount of control. Marvel offered him the role and he turned it down (he released a statement on his facebook page about it). But I think he was still unhappy about how he had been portrayed in the press during the original Hulk dispute when the film was being edited. I was like 'Come on! Just take the role!'. Personally I think if you change the main character your making a reboot, but thats up for dissuasion.
