To save money on soil, you can fill the bottom with your fall leaves, grass clippings, etc. it will compost in the bottom and feed your plants. You will see some shrinking of the soil as it decomposes, just add more dirt to the top next season. Love me some strawberries!!! Good luck y’all! Sending garden blessings!!

I have anxiety and depression that really ruins the quality of my life and I love putting your videos on to distract my mind. I just love you. You are the one who got me into gardening a couple years ago.

To help keep track of the new plants/runners the 2nd and 3rd year I use the colored twist ties found on bread bags. Example: Yellow goes around the 1st yr runners the mother plants get a red one. Keep track of the colors codes over the years on an index card noting the type, yr and how many of each :-)

When less berries are growing collect them in a freezer bag put them in the freezer. When you collect enough to do jelly/jam, make desserts or sauces thaw them. Be sure to trim the top, wash them also before freezing.

THIS is the kind of video I've been missing on your channel! Thank you for going back to your "roots" and providing an educational and beautiful video like in the past. The lifestyle vlog format you've taken on in the past year is nice, but I do greatly miss the detailed explanations, the educational aspect, and the how-to's for gardeners. Best wishes! Thanks again!

Girl you read my mind! I looked up your channel and strawberry planting last week and watched all the videos you already had out. Then I moved my galvanized tub to a sunnier spot in my backyard. Just waiting for some warmer weather here in Michigan so I can plant some strawberries! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge, you are a joy to watch.

Can you show us how to plant veggies like:
- Baby Kale
- Cut & Come lettuces
- Spinach
- Bell Peppers
- Eggplants 🍆
- Zucchini
- Onions 🧅
- Beets

And herbs like:
- Cilantro
- Basil

I have seeds for all and would love seasonal guidance on how to start them, transplant, & care for them throughout the season.

I would love to see more of those types of videos if possible. I’m just not in a position to do landscape designed type plantings where I currently live. But I am allowed to do container gardening on a medium-sized back patio.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE FRUIT, VEGETABLE, & HERB VIDEOS! 🥬, 🍆, 🌶, 🧅, 🌿, 🍓

If I get a raised bed, how deep should it be?
Can I use hay, is it practically straw?
How many inches was your pot? (24)
What strawberry type should I get? (Everberring, I did not watch long enough lol)
What do the runners look like?

I love how natural your videos flow. the spontaneity and rawness of the editing makes it more fun each time. 🍓 I love strawberries baked with pastry or made into a jam. 🍓🍓😍 Bless this channel.

My 7 year old gal loves strawberries. I plan to plant different types of strawberries this Spring. I am in Boston. I will put the plants in a large container as strawberries do spread out.

You spoke a little bit about how you are glad to see people trying to be more sustainable. Are there things you have changed in your gardening routine to be more sustainable? I know Monty Don talks about changes he is making in his garden every once in awhile and I find it very helpful and inspiring. Would love to see more videos focusing on this subject🐝

Thank you for these helpful suggestions for container strawberries with easy to follow directions. I didn't actually see how you hooked up your drip watering system to the actual water supply? Like your straw on top method.
With our world situation right now this gives us an opportunity to enjoy our patios with a very active healthy out of doors growing environment and a beautiful way to nurture ourselves. Keep all these wonderful ideas coming.

Setting up a new garden at my new house and cannot wait to have strawberries again. Last time I had them growing my son was just under 2, now he is 3 and he remembers eating them from the garden and is so excited to have them again.
On that note, when you mentioned not wanting a swing set, what about adding little pockets throughout your garden for Benjamin? That way he can have an insight area to play wherever you are working. Swing hanging from a tree, little tub (just like the one in the video) with dirt just for him to play and drive his cars in, a little sand table tucked in somewhere else...tons of ideas. Like a secret little kids garden. That way nothing is too in your face and also easily dismantled when he grows out of it or changed as he grows. It doesn't have to be tacky, brightly colored toys either. You can get creative and make the spots out of stuff that fits in well. Like the teepee you created for him...stuff like that tucked in throughout the property. Just a thought. My son loves his swing set but it is the swing and sand table he likes the most. Our vegetable garden is out of sight from his swing set so I have left a small 3x3 raised bed available for him to dig in in my garden so he stays there to play while I work and he loves it.

Hello, I really appreciate your husband's gifts of his choices for editing/background graphics/smooth transitions in both still photography choices for YouTube thumbnails or I'm so old I called "opening stills" 🤣 I asked my 12yr.old grandson, what are the YouTube little pictures you can pick from called 😂", I think, I hope you have grandparents that can relate!! I absolutely adore listening to you talk and thank you so much for your videos they definitely are soothing to my spirit because of arthritis I am primarily a "patio pots gardener", always your friend and sister in Christ lisa McDonald 💙🙏🌻

This was all so so helpful but I got lost about the drip irrigation. I live in Michigan with a small yard and was hoping to find a way to grow a lot of produce in small areas

I had a tractor tire at one point and completely loved it. Also filled the bottom with sod, leaves, grass, etc. Then put compost and they did amazing.
