Ready for new watches in 2023? So are we!

In this video Elizabeth Smith and George Reid sit down to review the new Cartier Tank Francaise. This new Cartier watch is the first major watch release of 2023, and we loved the surprise.

The updated Cartier Tank Francaise is the first new watch release from Cartier in 2023. A watch originally launched in the late 1990s, the 2023 Tank Francaise keeps the classic Cartier codes with a modern update. The new Cartier Tank watch has a squared case, reflective of the geometric shapes found in its home city of Paris.

The next major update to the 2023 Tank Francaise is the curved bracelet. Each link is curved to perfectly hug the wrist, providing expert design and comfortable function. A mix between brushed stainless steel and polished stainless steel give the bracelet a beautiful shine.

Available in small, medium and large models, the Cartier Tank has a size for every wrist. What is your favorite part of the new Cartier watch release? Let us know in the comments below.

Excellent review! Thanks for pointing out the design queues that distinguish this new watch. Your passion and love for this watch is evident.

Love the updates. It’s like an evolution not a revolution of such an iconic line.

I’m still getting used to the bloated end link. Love everything brushed, updated dial, and the recessed crown.

The steel one would look so cool on a rubberstrap with an integrated steel endlink

Would a medium suit a 7.25 inch wrist?

The update is terrible. The more squared off case makes it far less elegant, giving it more of a 'chubby' look. The dial is now also far too distracting, it is way overdone, too much reflections, less legible. The Cartier Tanks with the guilloche dials is a lot more tasteful - a detailed, but elegant touch of texture without taking away from legibility. I would have loved if they just brought the guilloche dial into the entry level tanks, but this attempt to 'modernise' it is just tacky and not what I am used to seeing from Cartier.
