Thought I'd throw together this edit of the 60th Anniversary. I absolutely loved watching the toymaker remind The Doctor of all he's lost and showing Donna what happens when you travel with The Doctor for too long.. It was also a brilliant scene to recap the past for people who are new to the show.

“But then, Rory was killed!”
“He died every week.”
“Well that’s alright then.”

The Toymaker being genuinely disgusted at every defense of the Doctor's negligence is so interesting

I love the detail of the Toymaker losing his German accent completely as he gets more and more upset with 14

Neil’s face when he says “by a bird” is hilarious

I love how hes preying on the Doctors guilt over the death of his companions. Whether hes guilty of letting them down or not, the Doctor likely blames himself for it. And the brutual 'well thats alright then' line makes all his defensives sound so very hollow. This guy knows how to mess with someones head.

I know it’s dark but I just find it hilarious when he responds with “WELL THATS ALRIGHT THEN”

I find it interesting how disgusted the Toymaker looks at the Doctor when he tried to defend their death

Out of all the deaths, Amy's was the least awful. She actually got to live a full life after her "death".

Neil Patrick Harris absolutely nails this scene so much.

Bill's "promise you won't get me killed" still hurts

Hearing Tennant mention companions like Amy, even in the slightest fashion, is surreal.

Toymaker: Graham though you're such a trustworthy person and opened his heart to tell you that he is scared that his cancer might come back, but you didn't even try to confort or encourage him.
The Doctor: I told him I was still quite social akward.
- Well that's all right then.

I would love to see Toymaker calling out all Doctors mistakes he did with his companions. :D

I adore this scene. Everyone defaults to "they didnt really die" when talking about these three, as if to make it ok. It doesn't change the fact that the Doctor had consecutive companions die on their adventures. No matter how the Doctor tries to justify or fix it, their time with the Doctor led them to their deaths.

This scene, I'm telling you, was so well performed. The mood was uncomfortable, the reality was heavy, Genuinely I wasn't sure sometimes if it was a laughing moment or a sorrow moment. So good, NPH sold this.

You can kinda see the toymaker's manipulative streak in this, because instead of talking about the companions after those 3, he goes straight to the flux, because all the companions after them have survived and gone home in the end, so he omitted them to almost make it feel like it's one screw up after another with the doctor

This is when Dr.Who works. It's not the SFX or sets, it's the brilliant writing

"Well, that's all right, then!" is my new go to phrase.

I really wish there was a half hour of these for every single companion to meet a bad end.

Is it wrong I want the Toymaker to do recaps for every episode?

The fact that Bill's consciousness survives and that Clara gets to live almost forever in her last second of life and at least Amy got to die of old age it's all fine as reasons to at least be okay with what happened for the doctor or a way to fix his mistake once it's happened but it never condones what happened, and the doctor should learn to realise that
