I had to set my sound profile on start up every boot. Thanks to this I don't have to do that anymore. Thank you so much.

Excellent tutorial. I'm going to sit down with a cup of coffee and follow everything presented. when a have 6-hours to spare. Linux Mint 19.2, trying to configure Xonar STX from 2 channel to 5.1. Currently there's no option. I've killed pulse and reloaded alsa. Tried writing to the conf files, but most of the information I tried is a few years old. Thanks for putting up something current.I even tried deleting pulse, not recommended.

Softhints - Data, Coding, Automation: I believe on the PLAYBACK tab there is a dropdown at the bottom/right that will show all devices.

Good Information!
My issue with Linux Mint 19.1 is when every time my USB DAC is connected upon reboot my (for example) Built-in Analog Audio switches to USB Audio and NOT a big deal but is weird cause Linux Mint 18.3 does not have that problem.

My Headphones are always plugged in so every time my computer boots I hear my Headphones which my DAC is LLOOUUDD!
for my "Built-in Analog Audio" its my Edifier R1280T connected via 3.5mm to RCA (I recommend)

You guys GOTTA try Pulse Effects, Pulse Effects is a LADSPA Plug-in for Pulse Audio Applications - 10 of 5 Stars: I recommend that for Audio Philes!

I use Zorin OS, and there is no video showing the problem I'm experiencing, when I see something the audio works normally, but out of nowhere it stops and starts making a high-pitched noise and if it's video or music it stops playing.

Great video. If only linux developers actually gave a toss we would not need to toll the internet for answers like this. Linux still sux.

I have quite recently installed Linux Mint on my MacBook Air and two weeks later on my 2017 iMac. On the MacBook Air everything works perfectly, however on the iMac there is no sound. I was trying everything until I landed here with the written Edition of this video. With the command pacmd list-cards I have then listed the cards with the following result: With index: O the name is: <alsa_card.pci-0000_01_00.1> and the active profile is <off>. Then under index: 1 with the name: <alsa_card.pci-0000_00_1f.3> I can find active profile: <output:analog-stereo> and I can also find sinks I do not know now, what I have to introduce in the long listing of the command: sudo nano /etc/pulse/default.pa . I am not that much of an expert, that I dare to fill in

@Softhints - Python, Linux, Pandas
Hello I have a weird Issue with my Linux Mint 21.1 Vera
The Issue is:
When I use my Monitor for sound output, then the pace and pitch is sped up and high pitch, when I switch to my Headphones however everything is normal...
This applies to both Internet Media and regular Software like VLC or Media...

I've also tried to use Pavucontrol, but either I'm overseeing something, or something else is the Issue...

My mint 20.1 (cinnamon) freezes at startup sometimes and I have to hold the power key on my laptop to force shut it down.

Recent logs says:1 Failed to set mode: Blocked through rfkill (0x12)

:2 Error opening PCM device front:0: No such file or directory

First log's sender is "Bluetoothd"

Second is "Pulseaudio"

I think this problem is related to Audio and Bluetooth at startup, any help is appreciated, I'm a newbie :)
