Angron: "I am free"

Khorne: "Well yes, but actually no"

And the irony now is that he is forever bound by Khorne to never die, to never be free, to always fight and rage.

The fact that he managed to wound a primarch even Angron is wildly impressive.

Other Primarchs when their sons try to kill him: HOW DARE YOU!!

Angron when his son tries to kill him: I raised that boy!

The tragedy of Angron. He fought so hard to die a warriors death alongside his friends and family, only to live eternally as a soldier slave surrounded by blood and worthless corpses

I love how, even in his dying moments, Kauregar still calls Angron “lord” and “father”. Angron even refers to him by his name, and as his son. He doesn’t hate Angron for what he did, and he dies not in the arms of a murderer, a butcher, he dies in the caring embrace of his loving father.

Angron's conversation with Robute made me truly understand his character, and this video showed me his empathy.

Angron once again proving to be the best traitor Primarch. He doesn't hate his sons for standing against him, he respects their defiance. They are just like him- fighting against a father they think has done wrong, and willing to fight and die for this belief. He respects this because they are just like him just on the other side of the coin.

The tragedy of the Red Angel will always kill me. He was enslaved and mangled, the Paladin was twisted into a butcher.

Angron: I didn’t want to side with the emperor because I didn’t want to live as a slave

Khorne: Man I love tragic irony

I love the idea that Angron smiled when he realized Kauregar had actually given him a wound. That he was actually proud of all of them, even if they didn't understand why he was against the Emperor.

I do wish there'd been a confrontation between Angron and Horus though, where Horus assumes Angron is loyal to him and gets corrected in a similar fashion.

"No. Do not mistake me, Horus. I care not for your whining little rebellion against that Man. MY fight with him is not the same as yours. We might be aligned against him now, but I will NEVER bow to anyone ever again. Not Him... and not YOU."

Before stomping off to lead his World Eaters into battle, leaving Horus frustrated that Angron isn't even nominally under his control... and relieved that he didn't have to fight him because there'd be little chance of him winning against the Red Angel.

Angron's reason for betraying The emperor was the best, imo

Angron: "I have been freed."

Khorne: "Oh, I wouldn't say freed, more like under new management."

Considering that Big E literally kidnapped him when he came to recruite the guy, Angron kinda has a point about being a slave to the Emperor. Course he's wrong about being free now, but he wasn't wrong about the Emperor.

I dunno who wrote Angron's backstory but kidnapping Angron instead of fighting beside him was definitely one of the biggest moments of stupidity for the Emperor.

This is what makes me like Angron despite how many people who talk shit about him he still has some of his mind in there.

A lot of people miss a key part of Angron’s character

When he says he wanted to “die free” on Nuceria, it was about 2% “free” and 98% “die”

He hyperfixates on the way he has been wronged, because he needs an outlet for his anger. As long as he has the nails he has absolutely no hope of happiness, true empathy, or basic decency.

Living in blinding crippling pain every second of every day with the only relief coming from being incentivized to hurt others would turn any man into a miserable husk beyond recognition

The closest to a justified fall, Mortarion had a good reason aswell, trying to save his Sons from the pain of diseases

Everyone talking about the tragic irony of Angron being enslaved by the nails, his rage, and Khorne. That’s true but I think at the start of the heresy until his ascension to Daemonhood I think Angron did had a brief respite. Then Lorgar had to ruin it by doing the ritual to turn him into a demon prince instead of letting him die free and finally be released. So it’s Lorgar’s fault, and if that’s the case then we all know it’s Erebus’s fault too.
