Well said!
Same applies for autism, ADHD, depression, etc.

Love this, thanks for spreading awareness! I got fed up of people saying this and so now I offer for them to join an OCD support group I attend 😆 they quickly stop saying "I'm so OCD!"

As a teen with severe OCD, I thank you for saying this, OCD is actually horrible sometimes and i know that I get almost 2 hours of OCD thoughts everyday. It’s just thought of as a mood, not a real disorder, so thank you!

I really have ocd and it's not nice when people make fun of it.
It controlls everything I do. And I've missed out on so much because of my ocd. It's a cruel controlling emotional
Devastating monster
Inside my head.

Yes ocd is extremely hard and depressing.
Ocd takes up most of my day.. and the intrusive thoughts are the hardest thing to deal with.
Especially when you have no help or support.
It is like I have a monster living in my head. And that is no understatement.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY STUFF LIKE "I'm so OCD!" LIKE. NO YOU'RE NOT MY HOME SLICE.

For example I spent alot of my time agonizing over memories of things that triggered my OCD or just desling with intrusive thoughts and having to beat intrusive impulses with a stick!

This message is great! I also want to say this to people out there cause it's really important. Just because you don't think something bad is going to happen doesn't mean you don't have OCD. It's the Anxiety and it's pretty tricky because OCD can seem reasonable. Truthfully, OCD isn't always relock the doors or a family member will die, but can be " is that hobby something you want to do? " " What if that hobby turns out the worst? ". Now logically you know it isn't a big deal if the hobby doesn't turn out the way you wanted, but, OCD creates an intense anxiety around making the decision. You may not think it's life or death, but your certainly feel like it is.

I explained this cause I just feel like people only think it's physical compulsions and life or death, but, it is so much more than that.

THANK YOU. As someone who has struggled with contamination centered OCD for 25+ years, I find this turn in language INFURIATING. OCD is not a joke or a prop for you to talk about how into videogame achievements you are, it's a nightmare of a disorder that people suffer with daily, often without the support or understanding of those around them. Try to have a little respect, please.

"What do you mean?" is such a mature and educational way to discuss OCD. Nice :)

I have friends who say their ocd because they need things neat or they hate it. And I was confused because I’m worried I have ocd and have been worried for years now. I have to track my steps and a bunch of little rituals and I panic if I don’t do it.

I check my alarms constantly, but also everything else and have to complete certain tasks before I can leave the house. I’m always late. Both OCD and ADHD make life exhausting. Even with meds for OCD, it’s still there.

I still remember when i was an adolescent, i was staring at a closed doors and shaking the handles for hours, telling myself that the doors are closed.

Almost 4 years of essentially being trapped in evil thoughts, past experiences, fears, paranoia, gets worse as each year passes by. Lost my entire identity I have zero interest in my life and future. I'm in immense pain with this. Would give my limbs to be free.

I am not diagnosed but I have so many symptoms of contamination obsession so it's really hard to go out and do something when someone looks contaminated or says they feel contaminates it triggers me and I can't do anything in those moments but just feel trapped in this panic attack
