hitchHiker Part 1 (2001)

One of my first major Flash "films" pretty soon after I started using Flash. This is a true story told to me by my father.
Fun fact, I made pretty much every sound with my own face and shitty desktop mic (except match striking)

This and part 2 is a big part of what drew me into animation in the first place. Adam's work in general in terms of Brackenwood too of course. There's just something about hitchHiker Part 1 & 2 that just makes me feel good and these animations have been with me for a long time. Something about them.. It's the comfy/creepy vibes I get from these. The isolation and the creepy (but friendly bum) Amazing art style and sound design too. I just wish these parts were longer!

Good old Newgrounds days.. I can't tell you how many times I've watched this as a kid, late at night, while desperately trying to create my own moody animations. Thank you for that.

I think Adam also did an animation called "night shift" about a farmer having to take an.. *ahem* emergency sh** on the crops. Even though it's more comedic, the night time atmosphere successfully delivers an awesome night-vibe that I rarely get from other artist.

Idk what it is but every time I watch this, the scene where he walks down the road with the guitar playing is so melancholic. Makes me feel a deep sense of longing every time :(

Oh my god, this is giving me such nostalgia. The grandma screaming used to startle me. I haven't seen this since I was a teen browsing Newgrounds when flash cartoons were the cool thing to do! lol

Went looking for bitey castle on a whim and was kinda floored to see its still up, though obviously changed.

Was looking for the "creatures with the apparent ability to teleport" flash, but this still takes me back.
