So you want to pick up kayaking and you are asking yourself what boat to buy? I see this question a lot on Reddit and Facebook and figured I would share my take on the subject.

I have to go alone. But I've taken a class in person, took an online course with the ACA and hope to have a sea yak course soon as well.
I started off with a Pelican 10 ft rec yak, but I've graduated to a Pakayak. I'm pleased with it although it is tippy. So I will increase my body contact with it in addition to, I hope my muscle memory kicks in so it's less tippy.

Great advice in this video! Buy your first 3 -10 kayaks used so you really know what you want in a kayak and how you want to paddle. You can probably resell it in a year or two for the same amount as you bought it. Also, take some lessons early while learning to paddle & join a paddling club!

I was talking to my girlfriend recently about getting a boat because we like to go paddling in the Kromme Rijn here and it's almost always flat and chill. She wanted to get one of those blow up boats and I've been apprehensive about just getting one because I don't know much about this sport. Went on my first kayak trip two weeks ago. A shallow twisting creek that dumped into a peaceful lake. I’m in love! Just bou go t my own boat and am eager to explore. Loved this video and appreciate the info!

Just come back from Cornwall, UK where we had some fun in an inflatable, it took me back to surf riding as a kid. Your opinion and advice is well appreciated, I'd love to kayak more regularly, I think however it will remain a holiday treat!

People .... I have severe PTSD problems but even kayaking in the Netherlands is so tranquil and full of animal live ..if that doesn’t work than nothing well, really love to go explore and a kayak is my recommended boat

I live 1 minute from the Meditteranean Sea in Israel, and I find myself looking up info about buying my first kayak. This video pops up and without further checking you out, I can HEAR your Dutch accent. Then I look and figure out you're a My birth town! What a coincidence. In ieder geval, een erg informatieve video die me een stapje verder helpt in de richting van mijn eerste kayak avontuur. Groet uit het "heilige land". P.S. Is er iets over Middellandse Zee kayakken dat ik moet weten als beginner?
