Imagine if, before he even went to Sokovia, he sent a few hundred drones to somewhere remote, where they could work on his plans and reconstructing him. Then, years later, after the Snap, he strikes when half the Avengers are dead or retired.

You know, like an intelligent AI would do.

Ultron may be stupid, but Capt America did put him in a chokehold and try to cut off the oxygen to his

For an enemy like Ultron to work, he should have been introduced in the previous movie, where he functioned as intended, but got increasingly frustrated by the other Avengers' perceived inefficiencies.

My head canon is that this version of Ultron was never an AI. I’m convinced that Tony and Banner didn’t copy computer code but rather released a mind that has been trapped in the Mind Stone for long enough to deteriorate.
This explains his immediate self-identification as an entity that should have a body, his fractured mental state and his very organic thought patterns and plans. He’s not copying himself across multiple bodies or into a remote server somewhere disconnected from the internet because he’s still thinking like a person who grew up in a single body.

"He has all the world's knowledge but no wisdom" is a great summary for Ultron's issues.

Honorable mention to Tony and Bruce for "Heroes ALMOST stupid enough to lose." Any project that starts off with "We're mad scientists. We're monsters, buddy." is NOT going to go well.

the fact ultron's goals and rationel for those goals are seemingly random kind of make sense when you realize he absorbed every internet arguement the moment he woke up.

The weirdest part is Ultron never makes a backup of himself. It's possible that Vision purging him from the internet was the handwave to bind him to a single form. But he seriously didn't think to leave himself in a bunker somewhere just in case.

The dumbest part about Ultron's plan is that he tried to use the internet to gain access to nuclear launch codes that aren't stored online.

I like to think that Ultrons biggest flaw should have been speed. As an AI used to functioning in the digital space at orders of magnitude faster speeds, both of thought and response. All his plans were half baked and unfinished because he was imagining things as being much further along than they actually were. He might have been a super fast AI with oh so many remote appendages but he could only function in the real world at real world speeds. Never considering things like traffic, shipping delays, wear and tear. Just things that would occur in the real world and not in his perfectly and tightly controlled digital space.
I felt like that was one of the things that they managed to capture well about his character in that movie. Like when he ripped off Ulysess hand by accident. It was indeed an accident, he wasnt used to humans being so much weaker than his bodies. He literally had no real world experience with anything.

I love that Tony Stark either learned exactly the wrong lesson from Ultron or reverted back from it after being deffeated by Thanos, because he made another army of drones and gave control of it to a teenager

Even as a AI cautionary tail Ultron isn’t too impressive. In Tony just had the foresight to seal his little AI project in a simulation to test, a lot of trouble would have been avoided.
But a guy that smart probably would not have used a relic they got from a mischief god. Every Loki touches is one big wild card

The Age of Ultron was really more like a Day of Ultron

I thought it would have been more interesting if they had made Hydra the villains of Age of Ultron and the film ends with the Avengers having to make Ultron to defeat Hydra once and for all. Then have Ultron revealed as the villain behind Civil War instead of Zemo. I realize this fantasy is mostly a product of hindsight.

Ultron is literally a kid. The most creative means of destroying humans was literally throwing a giant rock at them

Personally I think it's perfectly logical for a super advanced AI to decide to go full skynet after logging onto twitter once

I like how Tony is already a short-form name but you still shortened it to "Tone"
I also like how Steve tries to choke a robot

Ultron became evil after looking at the internet and to be honest it get it.

This is great. I never thought of all of the depth of emotion Ultron hid while watching all his scenes

Wanda has the most confusing power in MCU. Sometimes her power is so great she can tear any being apart with her mind and witchy hand movements, other times she has to get into a fist fight with her opponent and narrowly escape. So confusing
