Everybody seems to be professional carpenters and forget that not everyone else automatically knows every tip and trick there is for using tools and speed squares. God forbid people have the opportunity to learn visually through an easy means of access to information and instructional videos. Thanks for the video! While I already knew about using a speed square to get a nice, perpendicular crosscut on some lumber, my head isn't so far up my own rear to realize not everyone knows these sorts of things. We all have to start somewhere. Thanks for the videos!

thank you SO much for this. completing a DIY project and every video has made me feel like the only way to get this would be buying a circular saw AND a miter saw! I knew there had to be a way to do this without purchasing both.

Tip. Flip it and let the large side of the plate on the keeper end. No wobbly cut lines because the plate rides flat.

Turn your speed square around the other way and it won't want to walk away from you

Wincing as I see you give tips to using a saw with your fingers near the blade, your battery in the saw and your other hand on the saw trigger.

My grandpa often uses a square when making cuts with a circular saw to keep cuts flush. I do alot of carpentry and am always incorporating tips and tricks but I always forget to do this one!

Not every saw has this feature. First time saw buyers should look for this feature. Unless you plan to buy a sliding compound miter saw and a table saw, it's good to be able to make angled cross cuts and rip cuts with a circular saw. It also helps if you don't have to lug heavy saws to different locations.

You should hold the square the other way round then it doesn’t push out of alignment

It's not a trick it's common sense

You can cut a bevel but don’t have to set the angle on the saw. The square has a built in 45 angle

You might not get exactly 45 every time, but putting both pieces together will always get you 90.
