I think Vegeta was always a loving sweetheart inside but it was beaten down and forced to hide because of the fascist, violent society he was born into then forced to be a hostage and child soldier to a malignant psychopath. Bulma herself didn't change anything about Vegeta, she (and the rest of the world) provided the circumstances where Vegeta's true nature could reveal itself, flourish, and grow.

Even Goku had a hand in that. Goku was never murderous toward Vegeta; he was hypercompetitive, but he never came at Vegeta with dog-eat-dog malignant survivalism. Vegeta could have a friend who understood and engaged with his aggressive, competitive nature but not make it a personal vendetta. All those years Vegeta was literally beefing by himself.

I love these moments in Super so much! I believe after the Buu saga Vegeta realised how shitty he was to Bulma during her frist pregnancy. Didn't he leave for a whole year when Trunks was born. I think because of that he made sure he was there for her this time around.❤❤❤❤
