ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm going to try something really crazy... a European teaching tour! I have no idea if it will work, but I'll be flying into Berlin on 22 Sept., and somewhere between then and Oct. 6th in Manchester, I will stop by your city! If someone is interested in hosting me, I will travel by bus or train to you and put on a music workshop, play some music, and just hang out! To help cover the travel costs, I will ask for a suggested donation at the door... a small, affordable fee. And if you cannot afford it, COME ANYWAY. The more the merrier! I believe music education should be as free as possible! I literally have no plans, and I'm letting you guys take over my itinerary! To do so, just visit this link:

1) Click EDIT
2) drop a pin where you live, and
3) hit SAVE to indicate your interest!

Will this work? Only you can make this possible!

The Melody, Harmony, and Rhythm Modules are available now!

Tuning: EADGBE (Standard)

Enjoy!

Thanks so much for your perspicacious tutorials over the years! ❤ More than a decade later I'm writing & producing my own music for my tinny YT channel 🤠❤️‍🔥

Warren Lain: promoting music literacy since 2007.
I'm a huge theory geek, and one of my biggest pet peeves is when people don't put any value into the concept of theory and roll their eyes when I say something like "damn, this song is in compound meter" or "holy crap, a chord progression of entirely whole tones!"
I love that you not only help people with the technical side of play guitar, but the theory so they can understand the music they're making!
Keep it up!

Very well done. I've played a nylon string since I was young. To see you hit those chords on a steel string is nuts. You must have fingers of solid steel. This song has odd measures. Thanks for having the stones to teach it. Again, very smart work my Friend.

you make it look so easy, but I know I'll be in knots when I try this tomorrow. Thanks for the lesson, look forward to trying it in the morning.

Yeah, I like using the term "musical fluency." And I appreciate that you appreciate me!! You would probably get a kick out of "analyzing" the older versions of "Analyse." They each have their own idiosyncrasies but what's really interesting are the alternate chords I share in my Facebook note. A half-step here, and whole step there, very fun theory stuff.

1 _ & a 2 e & a 3 _ & a 4 e & a is how I'd count it. There is a pause on every bass note which happen on 1 and 3.

Warren.. everytime I look for a tutorial on the songs I love.. you pop up and they are always the best out of all available.. you do an incredible job and save me a lot of time and effort working them out by ear myself heh heh... I only wish you lived in Australia and could do some busking with me.. Radiohead is my second favourite band.. Slipknot being the first.. Keep up the GREAT work! ;)

Kudos for figuring it out mate:D Really good for extending the span of your hand, especially those F chords (or anything with F in the bass, just for keeping your index finger steady on the low F while doing nasty stuff with the other fingers).

Btw: You recommend a picking pattern with only thumb (lowest 2str), index (middle str) and middle (high str). Why not involve the ring finger? You could keep the thumb for bass, index for the other bass and middle and ring for the highest strings, right?

Learn a hell of a lot from Radhead through Warren the medium:) any chance of Present tense? also there's a alternative version of 'let down' with hybrid strumming. would love you to tutoriol that
