its surprising that a character that i never expected to be added has actually neat references for all of their alternates. so many other characters just use random colors, but i really appreciate that everything was utilized here.

Im going to be honest aside from the brigth purple one and Meta ridley, i didnt know his costumes had any references i just though it was the classic "Primal colors recolor

Ridley has probably one of the best costumes selections in all of Smash.

He has a cool alternate costume with Meta Ridley and all of his colors are clear references to his many appearances in Metroid.

Also, I'm just a sucker for alts. that reference NES sprites.

Ridley i think has one of the best sets of alt colors in the entire game. All of them are great references and look awesome in-game when several characters have to either pick between a cool reference and a color that actually looks good.

Mecha Ridley. To me, genuinely the most terrifying of every boss I've fought in the series so far. It's the sound it makes as it approaches from off-screen, followed by its blank stares as it tears your unprepared ass to absolute FLAKES... for the first few tries at least.
