He was fab! What a genuine, warm, enthusiastic guy. Good for him. Retire at 55… yes please! Be brave right ❤🦊

He’s living my future dream👍Nearly 56 years old & just in the throws of selling all my stuff I don’t consider useful.
Come spring I’m selling my narrowboat & retiring, then taking the plunge into buying a LWB high top Campervan.

I’ve been full time almost 5 years now. I love it all. Mechanical issues, water and solar and up keep is normal. I miss my house every Christmas but that’s really all. Started out at 61 now I will be 66 this month. I have friends all over the place now. 😊

Been looking forward to this video. Known Alan from day 1 of him setting out on his vanlife adventure.
If it wasn't for the vans I'd never have met this lovely guy. Vanlife offered me a lot and I've experienced a lot because of it, the adventures, the road trips the people but most of all being able to call Alan by best mate.

I’ve been almost 3 months full time in my motorhome, living in Scotland the last few weeks have been difficult due to cold as spending more time inside the van rather than out. But I love it, no more paying rent for a tiny flat, council tax e.t.c. My only bills now are my phone bill, motorhome insurance and tax. Keep up the great videos guys

It's so good to see someone who is so contented with is way of like. No complaints, just a sensible person who lives simply not asking or looking for more all the time. "I love it"!!

My "retirement" started at 48 when I built an apartment on a truck :) But really it just gave me my time back that was never anybody elses to have to begin with. 5 years later It paid itself off and I am saving money with part time money. I went big too, mainly because I got twice the space for half the price of a van and I could fit 2000w on the roof which is more power than I can use 9 months of the year. Like he says, all the room you could ever need and a stress free life while the rest of the world is imploding from the weight of its billionaires.

We went fulltime 8 years ago. Sold our cottage, 95 percent of our possessions and resigned from our jobs and bought our motorhome. Can’t imagine living any other way. Just like any other way of life there are ups and downs but we have never regretted the decision

These videos inspire me that this way of life is possible, personally im totally fed up of having my pants pulled down every month 1k rent every month for a tiny 1 bedroom flat in Essex excluding bills it's getting to the point where im literally working just to cover my overheads. Im still trying to decide if I go for a motorhome or buy a van and convert it myself but as with everything trying to get the Funds together isnt easy and I really dont want to take a motorhome, camper on finance.
This is a great video makes me lean into going for a motorhome but like the fella said parking restrictions could be a problem. Wishing you all the best on your travels fella.

Great video - thanks for sharing Alan. A different idea, probably the easiest way to Vanlife and well worth it! 👍

This is great. Got a taste of this during Covid. We are Brits, were living/working in US when Covid hit so we bought a 2002 mint Lazy Daze RV and lived/traveled full time around the western US for just over 2 years. Flat towed our car behind the RV. Was wonderful lifestyle in perpetual summer. Winters in Arizona, New Mexico southern border, summers up in Washington, Oregon, Idaho. Raised our small boy on the road. Best time of our lives. That is our early retirement plan when the time comes. US is way more van dweller friendly than UK, and climate variation also helps. Larger vehicles also help. Be well mate, wish you a long happy retirement.
