Distance is such a simple concept... Make sure you are 1 step away from your opponent, so he has to step in to be in range and you have time to see his movement and intercept him (or move out of the way).

Even in mma you see the fighters just standing face to face in punching range, throwing punches until someonr makes a mistake and gets caught... then when they face an opponent with a striking background who is trained to use foot work and control the distance, they cannot touch him

My right hand is fast but my left hand is faster then my right. I use to catch flies with either hand. My right is just stronger, since I am right handed. When I use to play boxing with my buddies, I use to hit them before they could blink. I am 76 yrs old and I can still catch flies, and hit you before you could blink. (I studied wing chung when I was in my late 20's) back in the 1970's. I stilll workout.
