My fav thing to do in the early hours of the NY is to look for this particular version of Aud Lang Syne and read the comments because it’s always refreshing with people sharing looking forward to the new year with renewed hope . Wishing everyone an amazing 2021.

Absolutely enchanting. Understanding the origins makes it more heartfelt and poignant, from generations prior to current, it's timelessness echoes

Out of appreciation of the song, I've gone and liked every comment on the video. Thank you James Creen for uploading and translating this, and thank you Sabine Ehrensperger for singing it.
I personally listen to this song to wake up in the morning; it does the same thing as a hug.

My stepfather passed away February 2020, not long ago. I came across this song wanting to learn the lyrics as well as play this on the guitar some day. This song made me remember him a bit and nearly made me tear up listening to this. And seeing the thumbnail of LOTR Frodo and friends holding cups in cheers made me think of him even more since he got me into lord of the rings lol. Love this song and hope to sing and play this one day, I'm sure my stepfather would love me to since he enjoyed hearing me play the guitar... May he rest forever and enjoy his new life up above somewhere

If the audio is playing only in your left ear for this and you want to fix it (this works for pretty much all devices I think) you can search for Mono Audio in settings and turn it on.

I would recommend turning it back off when you’re done tho.

How many of were trying to speak Scottish growing up and are not realizing why we still haven’t been taught the true spelling of those words in school 🥺

The language is actually called Scots, a relative of Modern English that we are using today. It is distinct from Scottish Gaelic, itself a relative of Irish language.

For auld lang syne my Jo, well that is just spot on, this wonderful song of greeting is surely Scotland's gift to the world. As a Scot, I absolutely adore it, it makes the blood leap with immense pride. 💙♥

Thank you so much for your version with the original Robert Burns lyrics! That has been so hard to find, as many feel they can modernize or improve upon the poet's words. But I think not - it's perfect as written. And if Scots English sounds a bit foreign to modern ears, then listen again and again... you'll soon pick up the beautiful rhythm. :)
