Auld Lang Syne (instrumental)

Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, wrote the words - in Scottish dialect - for this song, which are set to the tune of an old folk song, in 1788. It is a touching heartfelt song of farewell, sung often at funerals and other special occasions but famously always at midnight on 31st December, when the bells are ringing in the new year and people bid farewell to the old. “Auld Lang Syne” means - loosely translated - “for the sake of old times”.
