The Rings of Power season 2 episode 7 stunned fans with a divisive kiss – and the stars of the show have admitted they were just as "shocked" as everyone else.

The latest instalment of the Lord of the Rings spin-off saw Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) imprisoned by Adar (Sam Hazeldine) amid the Siege of Eregion. Asking to say goodbye to her, Elrond (Robert Aramayo) approaches her in front of Adar and his Orcs. He kisses her and manages to slip a pin into her hand, ensuring she can pick the lock on her shackles and escape.

I honestly don't understand how antis can say these people are blindly bumbling around playing these characters, and have no clue what the original works had in them. It's clear they're all so passionate about the original works!! (And as Charlie says, this is an ADAPTATION. They're allowed to be inspired by canon but then mix things up. ALL the movies have!! So it's not a valid excuse for complaining 😂)

I'm amazed by how Charlie V. totally sees the Sauron character, all the facets to his evil, complexity of his choices and strategies. That requires a very well developed emotional intelligence, especially that we clearly see that he himself is a nice and kind guy. Impressive acting. I'm also very positively surprised by how Ben is a Tolkien geek, I like his view on the story and his character. Ps. Like the interviewer energy and questions as well❤

Why is the Gil-galad actor so much more impressive offscreen than he is as the Elven-king? Can't someone write this legendary hero-king as he deserves?

I really liked season 2 especially Charlie Vickers' It was pretty dope seeing another side of Sauron because if you think about it we don't really know him at all.

Right! If Elrond kissed Galadriel, why Gil Galad can not kiss someone?
Justice for Gil Galad!

Ben, we absolutely do need Gil-galad to sing again! But yeah, maybe not another funeral dirge.

As a huge fan of Tolkien and the Jackson films, I'm really enjoying this series. It's fun seeing what the writers are doing with background and origin perspectives and how they imagine things could have transpired to lead to events in the Third Age, as well as ultimately the Fourth. It doesn't bother me that it may not be 'canon'; Tolkien was always revising his narrative elements; fiction is creative and fluid like that. Sometimes these writers go in directions I didn’t expect or that I wouldn't necessarily go, but that's cool. That's why it's a story. Looking forward to Season 3.
