Russian [Easter Bread] Recipe - [Кулич с шоколадной глазурью]

Показать описание
This weekend Easter is coming to town. Surprisingly, this year Western and Eastern Churches celebrate Easter on the same day. I decided show you how to make a delicious Russian Easter Bread (Kulich) with chocolate icing and walnut topping. Traditional way of cooking this cake requires a lot of time and effort, while my recipe is simple, but tastes just as good. Try it and you will love it.
Ingredients for the cake
1 pack (about 600g) ready to use vanilla cake mixture
180g cottage cheese (or unsalted cream cheese)
100ml water
10g lemon zest
50g dried fruit of your choice (traditionally it’s gonna be raisins, I also added apricots)
50g butter
Ingredients for the icing
5 chocolate truffles
1 orange (or 3 tbs orange juice)
50g butter
1~3 tbs sugar (optional)
10g walnuts
Steps:
Mix all the dry ingredients together
Melt the butter
Add all the wet ingredients
Mix with a hand mixer
Let the batter sit for 15 min
Pre-heat the oven to 180C
Bake for 30 min
Juice the orange
Put butter, truffles, orange juice and sugar in a small saucepan, turn on the low heat and stir until well combined
Crash the walnuts
Take the cake out of the mold, frost it, sprinkle with crushed walnuts
That’s all. Happy Easter! Tomorrow I’m going to film other Russian Easter festivities. Cheers!
