I am in no way an audiophile. I couldnt even begin to tell you anything about the nuances of sound quality, I simply know what sounds more pleasing to ME. The softer, more 'muffled' sound of the CH720 headphones I actually prefer, even if that is a lower sound quality. The huge jump in price to the XM headphones is a total waste for me, although i can totally understand why someone more phonically intellegent would take that jump.

For my personal concerns and usage, I see no point in spending more money for a pair of extremely hq headphones you're gonna be constantly worrying about (for scratches, abrasions, minor damages) while you can have a pretty decent product spending much less, that even if it gets destroyed you shouldn't be worried about your money. Of course i'm talking for an average consume, like listening to music indoor/outdoor and watching stuff on your pc. I'm sure that for professional users the whole thing is different, but for me the CH720N is the best way to go

I think they sound damn good so much so that I wouldn't recommend spending that much money on the xm4 or xm5. I loved my 720 but upgraded to the 9210 because they costed $113 ($10 more than what I paid for the 720's). Either way they're really good headphones.

The noise cancellation part was so helpful! I think I will opt for the XM4s, solely based on the noise cancellation feature. HOWEVER, if I was on a tighter budget, I'd 100% opt for the 720N

The 720 really had a nice sound. The Xm4 and Xm45do have a richer sound and wider soundstage. However, I would be extremely satisfied with this sound quality.

The noise canceling on WH-CH720N only works one way: reducing the noise coming from outside, but not the sound coming from the earphones. Meaning, people hear clearly my music if it's above safe level. It's the main reason I returned this earphones same day I got them. I expected the noise canceling to work on both ways.

I've been review hunting for weeks now and one thing about the Sony ch720N is that they're the only headphones that gets compared to its flagship model. Sennheiser hd458bt doesn't get compared to its Momentum 4 model, but they love to compare Sony ch720n to the 1000MX5. That definitely tells me a lot about the ch720n!😎

Fantastic comparisons of this headphones vs Sony's flagship sets. Truly shows they have quality across the spectrum. I happened to luck up and snag a pair dangling on display at a TJMaxx on Christmas Eve for $79.99. They are super lightweight, the app truly helps with the eq and ANC, making this my prized steal for Christmas. Merry Christmas!!

I got the Sony 720n after my soundcore q30 broke, and I have to admit the Sony is almost as equally good compared to the soundcore, and man they are soo lightweight
The only small complaint is that the vocals/speech is a little bit suppressed compared to the q30, but I slightly modified the vocals preset to improve that to some extent

I did not want to pay $250 for the xm4 but I only did it because these were not banging like the xm4 but the weird part is I tested them with my iPhone. When I tested them again with my android phone it was a MAJOR sound difference. I'm taking the xm4 back to trade them for these. The $150 difference is only for those that really need superior noise cancellation.

AAron I have a question pertaining to your sound comparison that you used in the video. Did you use the analog cord with the 720N to get that audio quality or was that audio quality comparison based on you using the wireless? I am asking because I have heard reviews where people have said the wireless sound quality for music on the 720N is not as good as the sound quality when you use the cord plugged into the headset.

Buying headphones is a nightmare now. I hate these new premium features. Touch controls? No thanks, pause when i take headphones off? I can just press pause thanks. It's more of an inconvenience having to wrestle with what the system thinks is the time i want to pause playback. I dont need manufacturers and primitive systems to make decisions for me.

And if i do want them to, I want the ability to disable the feature whenever i choose.

Dammit the noise cancelling is good… Although the sound isn’t that good, the fact that the ANC is already good on their new budget one, who knows what Sony will do with their upcoming high end headphones. Great review!

Between these 3, i prefer the Sony WH-CH720N sound for some reason, i like the bass, im a bass person, i like to feel the bass a lot

Idk why but the sound sample for the 720n sounded a lot better than the other more expensive ones. Felt more full and thumpier.

These sound absolutely amazing. Very comfortable and better the Bose quiet comfort. Understand these are incredible for calls. I was mowing the lawn, and the caller could hear me perfectly. They are extremely lighweight.
