ALMOST 20,000 PEOPLE TOOK ORAL MINOXIDIL AND THIS HAPPENED!

William Gaunitz here, delving into the intriguing world of oral minoxidil. With over 19,000 individuals embarking on this treatment, the outcomes are noteworthy. Traditionally, minoxidil gained FDA approval in 1991 for topical use on the scalp to combat hair loss. Yet, a growing trend involves its internal consumption.

A total of 19,218 participants have ventured into oral minoxidil use, and I'm eager to share their experiences. Initially explored in the 1970s for its potential to lower blood pressure, minoxidil was FDA sanctioned in 1979 for hypertension management at dosages from five to 40 milligrams. Notably, its use unveiled side effects such as excessive hair growth, accelerated heart rate, and foot swelling. These observations pivoted its application towards hair growth, culminating in the creation of Rogaine, the pioneering hair regrowth medication recognized globally.

Despite its established topical application, minoxidil is increasingly prescribed off-label for androgenetic alopecia, telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, and lichen planus, among other conditions. This analysis synthesizes data from 10 studies, encompassing 215 women and 19,000 men. Await the unveiling of photographic evidence towards the end.

The dosages reviewed varied, with women receiving 0.25 to 1.25 milligrams and men, 2.5 to 5 milligrams. Remarkably, those battling androgenetic alopecia reported improvement rates spanning from 61% to an astounding 100%, depending on the specific study. In cases of alopecia areata, 18% to 82.4% witnessed tangible enhancements.

While oral administration of minoxidil lacks FDA approval for hair loss treatment, its potential benefits are apparent through these visual testimonials. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that, as a medication, low-dose oral minoxidil may induce side effects. From my professional stance, I've observed its efficacy in select scenarios within my practice. Nevertheless, I strongly advocate for a comprehensive examination of hair loss causes before considering any treatment, including minoxidil. Should you have inquiries or seek further guidance, feel free to comment below. I'm here to assist in any capacity.

I want to tell you something. There is a man I know who has the thickest black Italian hair at 32 years old has never experienced any hair loss. He recently had his vitamin D and Ferritin tested along with other vitamin levels. His vitamin D is only 13nl and his ferritin is 8. I’m wondering why some people experience hair loss with these low vitamin levels while others don’t? It’s extremely fascinating to me. Hair loss has to ultimately all be genetic in some way.

Hi Doctor G! I was wondering if there is anything other than your DHT blocker capsules and Nutra M, as well as eating correctly for your blood type, that can be used for female hair loss from a natural standpoint. I have heard spearmint tea is a DHT blocker. What are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance for your reply. I am looking for natural solutions as a preventative, as I want to keep all my hair as I get older. 2:05

Hey Dr I am having a great amount of hair loss and I am just in my 20's. I consulted a lot of doctors and they all just directly prescribed me minioxidil in my country rather than telling me the cause. Can you suggest me what all tests should I take in lab other than vitamins to get a clear idea of my problem.

Hi Dr. Gaunitz, if someone with telogen effluvium uses minoxidil, after hair grows will they have to continue long term or can they taper off then get off it? Thanks!

Good afternoon Doctor. I have been taking oral minoxidil 2.5% for 6 months and have not had any side effects and my blood tests are always within expected values. Will I be able to advance to the 5% dose?

Hi Dr Gaunitz, thank you for your informative videos on such a common and worrying topic as hair loss.

I am a 60-year-old woman and after menopause and over the years I have been trying to get alternatives to stop the excessive loss of my hair.

Recently my dermatologist recommended Nutrafol to me and I have seen good results. I would like to get a shampoo that will help me with the condition and I am interested in using Trichologist, which one would you recommend? I think that my hair loss is based on stress and hormonal problems although I also feel itching in some areas. I will appreciate your response!

Any blood tests would you recommend for extreme oily hair post covid and noticing diffuse thinning all over the scalp (top, crown and side)?

I noticed hair loss post covid and it is more than 1 year and still loosing the hair .

B12 and D3 were low but increased the levels with supplements. Thyroid and ferritin is normal . Hair strands have become thinner so they easily come off during shower and comb .

What treatment would you suggest ?

Sir please make good video on finasteride its positives and negatives. Good dosage because most doctors instill fear so that they can sell their marketing serums but genuine doctors like u always encourage patients because you all know its the only thing which addresses dht and root cause of androgenetic alopecia
