I would say sandals or slip on shoes are most helpful with a camper van. Keeps dirt to a minimum in the van, bathroom visits in the middle of the night, etc.

If you don´t like the weather in iceland just wait five minutes and it will change but generally great advice all you have to avoid is getting wet nd you´re fine. Expect like 10 degrees in summer around 0 in winter
