Maggie- I don't have a question (Yet anyhow!) I just wanted to say THANK YOU for introducing me to a world of crafting I had never heard of let alone ever dreamed I'd be so excited to be a part of! I am the exact opposite of you. I am too persnickety to be artistic, I am always embarrassed of the finished product of any artwork I make. I am absolutely envious (more like completely jealous) of people like you who are crafty and see endless possibilities when looking at something as simple as a blank sheet of paper. So, about a year ago, I happened across a picture of a gorgeous scarf on Pinterest. I pinned it and life went on. The other day, I was browsing my pins and saw the same scarf pic again, and clicked it to see where I could purchase it. Long story short, I realized this was something even I might be able to do! I am attempting my first scarf tonight immediately after I finish this note. I am so excited to create something so useful and beautiful with my own two hands! I just really wanted to emphasize how wonderful you are at sharing your knowledge, it says how much you truly love this hobby. Your tutorials are extremely user friendly and you make yourself so available to anyone who might need you and your expertise. Again, thank you so much for giving me the courage to tap into that dark unknown area of myself, know as the crafty side ;), and to give myself another chance at trying something new. If this all works out the way I'm confident it will, I will be creating all my Christmas gifts this year, which is another first for me! Again, thank you thank you thank you and wishing you a incredible holiday season  <3  ~ Lacey

In regards to "how do you take the stitches off when you need to take a break". I use the cardboard tube from tinfoil or saran wrap. Just slip them onto the tube. When slipping them back onto your arm just make sure you put them back on the exact way they came off your arm. Hope this helps, it works great for me.

I was making a scarf following along as you went. Got to the part where you start "stitching" on your other hand. My first stich was tight and everything seemed to be going smooth until I noticed my left arm was nothing but giant loose "knots". Haha. As I sat there trying to figure out what went wrong realizing my wrist were stuck my fiance walked in.. The look on his face was worth it all... I love your videos on these scarfs!

Yes any bulky or super bulky weight yarn will work.

Hey Maggie! I adore your blankets! I am planning on making smaller blankets for my bridesmaids to wear around their shoulders during pictures taken outdoors in a December wedding. Do you know how many balls of yarn I would need to make a smaller blanket for around shoulders? Thanks for your help!

I saw in this video a rug. It looked soft! How would and what did you use to make this.
I want to knit a rug for a bedroom that has hardwood floor for my son?

okay, first thank you so much for the videos! I thought I was doing pretty good- I get the first row on my right arm- and then the second row, goes pretty well- but at the end of the second row- I seem to have this large loop- it won't tighten like the other knots did- and I can't seem to get past this- I've done it a half a dozen times and keep ending up with this large dangling loop at the end of the second row? Help!!

You can use waste yarn to hold stitches if you have to leave your work for some reason. This is what a lot of standard knitters do.

Sorry to bother you but after i make the first row of stitched when i try to end the row (the one with the slipknot) it does not work, the lines are too long and the knot doesn't work like the other ones. i have watched and re-watched your videos tons of times but it still happens every time and i do not know what im doing wrong.

I'm very confused on how to cast on. I have the whole wrapping around the thumb but when it goes I between your fingers I'm lost. I'm also confused on where the strands lye during the actual casting process.
