Being an imperial knight pilot sounds like one of the best possible jobs, basically invincible, don't have to worry about the inquisition murdering you and whoever you were working with because you saw a chaos cultist that you vaporized with plasma anyways, plus, I don't think the inquisition can kill you without blowing up a planet, or two, and you can be completely oblivious about how shit fucked the galaxy is, before this your biggest concern was spending 26 hours at a high lord meeting on a planet with more broken English than broken technology, now you just gotta wait til a guard army requests assistance and you can go shoot a blood thirster like 5 times with a cannon big enough to level mountains and than jam a chainsaw through its skull like its doom eternal.
