Makes you wonder what happened to the pilot of the knight. Sure his knight was chopped in half but he was in the upper half. Would a rescue be attempted or would he fend for himself?

That swing of the wraithknights sword is so satisfying and really shows the elegant precise style of the eldar, even when they are the size of a tower block

Such a amazing scene, shame that the game itself is shit as hell.

Makes you wonder why they didn’t just keep their distance and just shoot at them

Surprised the Eldar was felled so easily. I would have thought that being able to see that there was two that the pilot would have killed the first and then pivoted left using the felled knight as a shield.

Okay people in the comments are asking questions about imperial Knights and about the pilots. Would the imperium try to rescue the pilot the answer is yes. To be an imperial knight pilot is no simple task and you have to keep in mind the imperial knight houses.

Are very influential within the imperium. And the houses and their families go through a lot of rigorous training. They learn the children learn how to fight they learn how to shoot guns they learn how to.

What it means to be a nice chivalry and going to fancy dinners and balls and stuff. You know all the classic medieval fantasy in a Sci-Fi setting type of deal. But when they finally get their night and their bonded to them things are different they kind of the pilots are kind of arrogant but. Some of the time you get really good pilots who are tactical.

And this even space Marines would kind of listen to them if the night came up with a very good tactical plan. Like an outside of the box kind of plan to leave his battle brothers and sisters into battle with the Knights.

Because the imperial Knights they don't worship they do worship the emperor but they also are very close to the adeptus mechanicus. Figures because you know who's going to build these things am I right.

And the mechanicus is very very strict about you know making sure these things don't get too damaged or just completely destroyed. Because imperial nights if they're old enough and they're really old the way to be.

Bonded to your knight your Walker essentially you have to sit on a throne for an entire couple of days or weeks or maybe even a day. You have to sit on this throne and your consciousness goes into the.

Night so the two of you are bonded or grafted together so that you're the only person who can use the knight. But going back to what I said before about if they're old enough some of these knightwalkers are very old.

I'm talking about like Horus heresy old and when the knight in question is about to be bonded to his walker. Not only his consciousness is going into the machine so he can pilot it more effectively. But the voices of his ancestors whisper in his ear he can see visions of past pilots.

Grandfather's great-grandfathers just decades upon decades upon it hundreds of years. In the mechanic is called this the machine ancestral spirit. So essentially there's a ghost in the machine not a real ghost but you know a consciousness of previous pilots.

And sometimes imperial knight pilots would draw on this knowledge. Like if the dad was a pilot he could talk to his son and give him advice even though the dad is dead. You know don't do this this is what I would do this you know that kind of thing kind of like force ghost from Star wars.

But knowing this to destroy one of these nights they kind of try to recover as much as possible. If it's damaged beyond repair they remove the circuitry. The conscious Bond they try to remove that mechanism from the machine but if it's too badly damaged.

That's centuries of knowledge gone from that Walker now granted they probably have like some way to back it up or whatever. But still it's a massive loss so not only that but the pilots not every child in a Noble House can be a pilot.

Even if he went through all the training all this stuff and he finally gets to the throne. And he has to sit down in that throne for weeks on end not moving that's the that's the key part you can't move.

The imperial knight walker might reject him for some reason this can't happen the Walker can reject you. And even if you move on to the next Walker within your house and it keeps on rejecting you to you find a perfect fit. That's kind of distressing and if no Walker from your house chooses you that's really bad.

And plus once they're bonded to The Walker and they can talk to these spirits in the machine. They can use them more effectively they can gain that knowledge and use that knowledge more effectively. So to really lose a pilot is kind of like losing a tactician but again some of these pilots are arrogant some of them are dicks. But not all of them.
