Vikings of Canada - I Love Handheld Landscape Photography

After 5 days of sideways rain, I'm ready to give up. Alex pulls me back from the brink with a hopeful weather forecast for tomorrow, so I give it one last try.

To fill 24 hours we visit an ancient Viking village at L'Anse Aux Meadows in Newfoundland where I indulge in some joyous handheld landscape photography. We also meet the cutest dog I've ever seen and kill time at the mall in St Anthony. The problem is, there's only so much Mary Browns you can eat so we decide to crack out the Screech.

I spoil you with some detailed explanations on composition while shooting spectacular drone images of giant icebergs and Amanda shows off her saucy dancing while I gorge myself on ramen noodles. It's a bit weird.

Just when I'm about to call it quits and leave Newfoundland I spot a giant iceberg about 3km out to sea with a big hole in it. Thankfully I've got just one fully charged drone battery left so I send out the sky camera and it's even better than I imagined.

To cap things off I do have some bad news. All good things must end, but there's still reason for hope.

What is Alex actually doing on his laptop and does Screech really taste that bad? Is this the cutest dog on earth and does my face really look like Madonna?

There's really only one way to find out.

Great series "kids" That last ice burg is just amazing! Blue stripes are the most common. These appear when crevices are filled with water that freezes so quickly that bubbles in the ice don't have time to appear. Green lines occur when the water filled with algae is quickly frozen.

Nature always shows amazing artistry. It's everywhere and is not usually shown in enough detail. Your drone shots did a wonderful job of showing these awesome details. The cloudy skies and low light really allowed the details to pop. Amanda is such a trooper.
