These are 7 easy ghost traits and abilities that can be used to eliminate or confirm ghosts in Phasmophobia! These were a lot that I started with and it can help you when dealing with stubborn evidence.

I love how this game has clues to the ghost type that are undetectable to the equipment we use. Instead they are observable traits and the best way to detect them is your senses, very cool.

A Revenant does not need line of sight. If it can hear you or sense your electronics then its gonna sprint to the area where it has last sensed you (or seen)

another trait is from the deogen. not only do they know where u at and slow down when they're close to u, but using a spirit box, there's a chance to hear heavy breathing, and if u manage to hear that, instant deogen

Here's a list from the top of my head that I tried to keep concise:

During hunts:
Oni: More visible than other ghosts, the invisibility time between blinks is less than the othery
Phantom: The opposite of Oni, they are harder to see, as the invisibility time is longer between blinks
Hantu: If it has visible breath during hunting, it's a Hantu
Deogen: If from far away you can hear it being fast, but when it gets close it slows down to a super low speed, it's a Deo
Jinn: Similar to Deo, however, it just becomes normal speed/slower than the speed they approached you with once they get close
Obake: Aside from sometimes leaving handprints that show 6 fingers, during hunts, an Obake will change ghost model 2 or 3 times, so while looping, check if it changes models or not.
Spirit: If you used an incense, and you feel like its effects lasted longer than usual, it's likely a Spirit.
Onryo: If you light 3 firelights, and they all go out in sequence before a crucifix gets burnt or a hunt begins, it's an Onryo.

Here are 2 others that are identified with multiple hunts:
Thaye: On the first 2-3 hunts, they will move very fast and their speed will not change with line of sight, however, as more hunts happen, the slower they get, that's how you know it's a Thaye.
Moroi: Kind of the opposite of Thaye. Morois speed depends on your sanity level. So for example if you know your sanity is very low, or think your sanity is very low because you spent too much time in a room with no lights on, the Moroi will move significantly faster than other ghosts. And to be sure, after a fast hunt, take some sanity medication, and get it to hunt again. If it moves slower, it's going to be a Moroi.

Not to mention that an obake sometimes doesnt leave fingerprints while other ghosts always leave fingerprints

There’s a running gag between my friends and I. “Obakes never kill me.” This obake stared at me for like an entire hunt and disappeared and the second one of my friends entered the house it hunted and killed them. So yeah they are definitely my fav ghosts

a good tip for jinn is that if you notice that the breaker hasnt been turned off go to the circut box with the emf and it hits level two it is a jinn

I like Deogens, they are the most fun and if I get one I always have to loop it in an open room for fun.
Especially best for when I play with friends and they want me to leave and I wait for a hunt.

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for making these videos. I've only got about 30 hours in the game so far, but I'm the person in my group that does the homework and knows things. It's been helpful watching your guess the ghost videos without commentary, and then hearing your breakdown afterwards ruling out ghosts. I get to look smart by teaching my friends about twinteractions and ruling out/testing for ghosts based on behavior
I saw my first Hantu breath last night while looping (to save my poorly-hidden teammates) and felt so proud that I could immediately tell what the ghost was without checking my cheat sheet!
That being said, we had an unfortunate round where we were narrowing down ghosts/watching the camera in the van and saw the lights in the ghost room turn on. I was like "Oh, a Mare can't do that, It's gotta be a Spirit!" And yeah, Mare can't turn on lights. But, uh, they CAN turn on the fuse box, which I didn't know was off 😭
Good news is, I'm never making *that* mistake again!

I’m very new to the game and among all the YouTubers I’ve watched so far you are easily and by a wide margin the best. Long enough to not gloss over info. But short enough to make the viewer feel like there time was used well. Not to mention you give info in an order that doesn’t create confusion.
