I have the 1.5mm one and like what others have commented, it tends to leave too much space between the bead and loop. To fix that, I bent the rules a bit and pushed the bead forward just a tad farther than what is shown, to the spot just before the pliers starts bending the wire to make the loop. It did the trick. You have to play around with it to know how close you can get without the bead breaking. I just made a necklace and bracelet doing it this way without breaking one bead and I'm pleased with the final product.

Yes, I have also used this tool to make links. You just put the end of a wire into the tool to create an eye pin, then place your bead on the eye pin and put the loose end into the pliers to create the second loop.

Ok, so, I saw these in "Michael's" the other day and looked up this video to show a friend.

I do not do much jewelry making so I wouldn't have an immediate use for this, but it is awesome, and does so much in a single actuation, that I would love to buy one just-because.

But then as we were teasing back and forth it dawned on me that a version of these made for 12 and 10 gauge copper would be AMAZING for electricians !!!!

Seriously, a tool to make the loop to screw a wire to a fixture?

THIS I would pay for!

These definitely look useful but it looks as if the loops don't come out snug to the bead. There is some space left between the bead and base of the loop. Is there a way to push it up closer when doing it or is that as close as it's able to get?

OMG thank you for posting this! I just got a pair of these used off of Amazon and the Amazon people put a huge sticker across the back of the package where the instructions are! I tried a bunch of ways but couldn't get it to work lol! So YAY you saved the day lol!

Yes, you can use this tool to make links in that manner. You may find it helpful to place the bead on first and then loop each end. Otherwise, you can just put the plain wire in.
