A very US centric list, many world class restaurant were left out

I used to work at Alinea, and it’s a great place. One of the most influential restaurants ever and a true landmark in cuisine, not just progressive cuisine. But no one in Chicago, not even the staff at Alinea, thought Alinea was the best in the world. One of the best, sure. But places like Noma and EMP truly are better. My jaw literally dropped when I saw Alinea at number 1, and I’m a proud alum.

You should go by cuisine. This is heavily biased towards European restaurants. This is basically a list of the most expensive luxurious restaurants not based on how tasty the food is but the uniqueness. You pay $100 for an item that is 1/10th of your plate.
