I feel the Mini 2 at the moment is still worth getting, it is a magic little drone and it suits my needs . I must admit, some sort of active track would be great, that would be the only thing I would like to have

I've had my mini 2 just over a month now, I've just uploaded a video to youtube and the 4K footage is fantastic looking, it's a joy to fly for a complete noob like myself, I don't think there will be a big improvement in specs for the mini 3 but once it is released prices of pre-owned mini 2's may start to fall which makes it an even more attractive purchase for someone new to flying drones.

I bought my Mini 2 a couple weeks ago. I considered waiting, but we have a couple big trips coming up and I didn’t want miss out on taking it with. Especially with possible chip issues affecting not only a release date, but also production numbers. 60 FPS is not something I absolutely need, and I don’t do a lot of flying where I need obstacle avoidance. I’m happy with my mini 2 and may upgrade a few years from now when some crazy new features are added. Otherwise, I think it’s like getting a new iPhone every year….not necessary.

I think it's still worth buying and will still be when mini 3 come out. As long as you don't care for active track, what else could you want in a sub 250gr camera drone. I've had the mini 2 for like 8 or 9 months and I'm still impressed everytime

B you can wait months for the Mini3 and miss out on much fun or buy the Mini2 and be happy
C Who really cares about front on collision avoidance? I want lateral sensors for those times we can't see what's coming.

One thing for sure the mnin 2 will be a lot cheaper in the next 6 to 8 weeks as well if 3 comes out that might be one reason to wait but still buy the two

I’ve owned mine for some time now, and I’d buy it again. You’ve said yourself months ago that the Mini 3 is on its way, but I’m not getting that feeling. That being said, even if it DOES happen.. how many software updates did we go through on the Mini 2 to get it just right? If I were a newer drone flyer, I’d rather buy a Mini 2 now, and give it some time to let the new model not only come out, but to work through the bugs.

I bought it 2 days ago, brand new with fly more combo, 256gb micro sd card, and dji care pack for approx 450$. Hard to beat that value.

How much better can it ideally get? It's already got 4k 30 which is standard for video purposes. Videos can always be upscaled to 60 frames through editing software.

The hardware is not likely to be changed apart from the camera. The motors are already quiet enough as well as it having customizable led lights.

Active tracking isn't really needed because you aren't really going to flying through obstacles like trees

Too late! I got mine 3 weeks ago. Works great. Two of the batteries needed an online update, which I got. Took my Mini 2 on our holiday to Devon last week and got in some nice footage.

Darren. Will dji continue to improve the sometimes unstable fly app 1.4.8. Or do we just live with it. Regards Gary R.
