In the early 1980s it was a punk venue. I helped rebuild the upstairs stage (as the band GBH had also done earlier) We did it for the Rock Disco which played an excellent mix of rock, metal, 60s, and punk on Thursdays with Cosmic Fish and Fridays. The artwork shown at 2 mins was done by Pen who also did artwork for The Golden Eagle and R and Js, both very close by.

We used to use it as a meeting point for going over to the electric. I seriously hope they all don't end up like another eye sore apartment building. Would be kool if they could turn both into a musical venue and/or community hub that can be used by all.
