Just wanted to add since I see a lot of comments about Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. Both were incredible shooters, no doubt, but they didn’t change the game, Steph Curry did. They were elite at what they did, but their three-point shooting was more of a specialized skill rather than a fundamental strategy for an entire team. Their teams still played through traditional offenses that prioritized mid-range shots and post-ups.

Steph, on the other hand, completely shifted the way basketball is played. He didn’t just shoot threes he made the three-point shot the most dominant weapon in the game. He proved that you could build a championship-winning team around three-point shooting as the primary offensive approach. No team before the Warriors was taking or making threes at the volume that became the norm after Curry’s rise.

Look at the numbers before Curry, no team was even attempting close to 30 threes per game. Now, it’s a league-wide standard, and some teams take 40+ a game. Kids in gyms today aren’t working on mid-range fadeaways they’re practicing deep threes because of Steph. Even big men, who used to focus on post play, are now developing three-point shots to stay relevant in the modern NBA.

Allen and Miller were great shooters, but they didn’t force defenses to pick them up at half-court. They didn’t break defensive schemes or make coaches completely rethink their strategies. Steph did.
